Das Internationale KurzFilmFestival (IKFF) Hamburg hat seine Wurzeln im Milieu unabhängiger FilmemacherInnen. Im Jahr 1985 fand es unter dem Titel NoBudget zum ersten Mal statt, bevor es 1994 seinen jetzigen Namen erhielt. Seit seiner Gründung ist es Ziel des Festivals, sich sowohl mit technischen, gesellschaftlichen und ästhetischen Herausforderungen auseinanderzusetzen, als auch den kurzen Film an sich als eine eigenständige Kunstform hervorzuheben. Es ist das Anliegen des Festivals, aktuelle, unbekannte oder ungewohnte Produktionen zu präsentieren, die helfen, Wahrnehmungsweisen zu überprüfen und zu erweitern. Außerdem betont es die wesentlichen Qualitäten des Kurzfilms – unabhängige Produktionsbedingungen, Pointierung der zentralen Aspekte und Unkonventionalität der künstlerischen Mittel. Alljährlich präsentiert das Festival Kurzfilme in den Kategorien Internationaler und Deutscher Wettbewerb, Hamburger Wettbewerb, NoBudget Wettbewerb, Flotter-Dreier-Wettbewerb, Mo&Friese KinderKurzFilmFestival und in Sonderreihen.
Das 25. Internationale KurzFilmFestival Hamburg findet vom 2. – 8. Juni 2009 statt.
Filme könne ab Anfang November 2008 online auf der Festivalseite www.festival.shortfilm.com/ eingereicht werden. An selber Stelle gibt es weitere Informationen zu den Wettbewerbskategorien und Anmeldebedingungen sowie das Einreichformular als PDF.
Einreichschluss ist der 15. Februar 2009.
The Hamburg International ShortFilmFestival (IKFF) has its roots in the independent filmmakers’ scene. It took place for the first time in 1985 as the Hamburg NoBudget Festival before taking its current name in 1994.Since its inception,the IKFF has pur- sued the goals of presenting ways of dealing with technical,social and aesthetic challenges through the medium of the short film, and the highlighting of the short as an independent art form. The Festival aims to present new, unknown or unusual works: films which will make their audience reflect on their own modes of perception while highlighting the essential qualities of the short – the independent production environment, the focus on central aspects of both the narrative and the visual treatment of its subjects and the unconventional nature of the aesthetic means used. Every year in June, the Hamburg IKFF presents short films in the following competitions: NoBudget, International, National and „Made in Hamburg“, in a Three-Minute Quickie Competition and the Mo&Friese Children’s ShortFilmFestival and special programmes.
The 25th anniversary edition of the Hamburg IKFF will take place from 2 – 8 June 2009.
